Does this module require an official Odoo IoT Box subscription?
No! POS IoT Scale operates completely independently of the official Odoo IoT Box. You pay once for this module and own your desktop scale app forever with zero monthly fees.
Which scale brands and protocols are supported?
Our software supports all major commercial scales including CAS, Mettler Toledo, Datalogic Magellan, Dibal, Avery Berkel, Fairbanks, and NCI protocols via RS232, DB9, DB25, and USB-to-Serial interfaces.
Can I connect USB-to-Serial adapter scales?
Yes! Modern laptops and POS terminals without built-in DB9 COM ports can use standard USB-to-Serial FTDI, CH340, or PL2303 adapter cables. The app automatically detects virtual COM ports.
How does weight sync into Odoo POS work?
When a weighed product (e.g., apples, beef, coffee beans) is selected in Odoo POS, the system automatically queries the scale app, captures the live net weight, and sets the item quantity instantly.
Is this compatible with Odoo Community and Enterprise?
Yes! POS IoT Scale is 100% compatible with both Odoo Community Edition and Odoo Enterprise Edition for version 18.0.
